Bio

Michael C. Sanders has 20 years of experience litigating business disputes, with a focus on energy law. Michael has handled cases from filing through appeal and has significant trial experience.

Michael has been recognized as a leading attorney. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has received Martindale Hubbell's highest peer review rating of AV. He has been named as a Super Lawyer in Energy and Natural Resources Law every year since 2015.

Michael’s practice has consisted of handling a variety of commercial, energy, and real estate disputes and lawsuits. He has litigated cases involving breaches of contract, real estate, business torts, energy agreements (including oil & gas leases, joint operating agreements, exploration agreements, drilling contracts, and service contracts), mineral disputes (such as royalties, surface access, and title questions), purchase and sale agreements, partnership dissolution, employment disputes, non-competition agreements, commercial and residential construction, and commercial leases.

In addition to representing clients in lawsuits, Michael is a mediator and arbitrator. He has completed both the mediation and arbitration training courses at the University of Houston's A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center.

Michael lives with his wife and three sons in Missouri City, Texas. He is active in his sons' Boy Scout Troop and helps coach when they play sports. Michael grew up in the Houston area and returned home after finishing college and law school.
